	Jeyachandra was the second son of Dr.I.Davis and Mrs.Elisammal Davis.  His grand mother Mrs.Annapooranam Yesudian was the grand daughter of Rev.J.Joshua.  He started his education in the Mission Schools at NAGERCOIL and continued his higher education at Palayamcottai and Madurai and obtained his B.Sc., Degree from the University of Madras.   On completion of his studies he worked in the Scott Christian College, NAGERCOIL, for a few years.  Later he joined the Indian Foreign Service in 1958.               Mr. J.C.Davis married Shanthakumari daughter of Mr.J.Rajaiah, former Secretary of the Marthandam YMCA and Mrs.Celestine Rajaiah.               She took her B.A. Degree from the Scott Christian College, NAGERCOIL and worked as a teacher in the Higher Secondary School at Amsi, Thengapattanam.  After marriage, while in Somalia she worked in the Indian Embassy School for one year.  She is very good in music and singing and was a member of the College Choir.  She also took active part in the College Student Christian Movement.               Mr.Davis served in many foreign countries like Indonesia, Egypt, Kuwait, Somalia, New Zealand and The Sudan.  He retired in 1991 as the Second Secretary of the Indian Embassy in The Sudan, and settled in NAGERCOIL.               He was very much interested in hunting and joined hunting groups .  He was also a good marksman.  His other hobbies were fishing and painting.               They have three sons - Anil Kumar, Nirmal and Satheesh.  The eldest Mr.Anil Kumar is married and settled in New Zealand.  Nirmal is a graduate and holds an IATA certificate.  Satheesh is a computer software engineer.               Mr.J.C.Davis passed away on 23rd May, 1999, at the age of 66 after a brief illness. His mortal remains were interred at the Home Church Cemetery.
