	Dr.Samuel Moses Bejan Singh was born on 28th July, 1953, as the second son of Mr.P.T.Samuel (Executive Engineer,P.W.D.) and Mrs.Pushpabai Samuel.  He had his schooling at Palayamcottai and secured his M.B.B.S. Degree from Osmania University, Kakatiya Medical College, Warangal, Andhra Pradesh.  Then he got his D.O.M.S.(ophthalmology) from Kasturba Medical College, Manipal  and M.S.(ophthalmology) also from Kasturba Medical College, Mysore.  He was awarded Rtn. Dr.P.N.Srinivasa Rao prize for the best outgoing M.S.(ophthalmology) student for the year 1982.   In 1982 he joined as Medical Officer at the Salvation Army Hospital, Trivandrum  and Lecturer in Ophthalmology at Kasturba Medical College, Manipal.  In 1983, he joined as consultant Ophthalmologist at CSI Hospital, Kanyakumari Medical Mission.   In 1992, he established the Bejan Singh Eye Hospital as a well equipped eye hospital with all modern facilities for eye care. During 1987 he got his Super Specialisation in Cataract  with Lens implant Surgery at Upson Eye Clinic, Thomaston, Georgia, United States of America.   He married Rooshitha the eldest daughter of Mr.John Manuel and Mrs.Jebamathy Manuel.   She is the great grand daughter of Mrs.Salome Johnsahayam who was the daughter of Rev.J.Joshua.  After finishing her studies at Duthie Higher Secondary School, NAGERCOIL and Women’s Christian College, NAGERCOIL, she  joined Stanley Medical College Madras and got her M.B.B.S.Degree.  Then she worked as Medical Officer at CSI Kanyakumari Medical Mission and Dr.Jeyasekharan Hospital.  In 1987 she successfully completed  a diploma course in ophthalmology from the Rajaji Hospital, Madurai.  From 1991 onwards she is working at the Bejan Singh Eye Hospital, NAGERCOIL.  She also holds a P.G.Diploma in Hospital Management.   They have two daughters, Sanjana born on 16th June, 1987, and Niranjana born on 13th February, 1990.  Both are studying at the St.Joseph’s Convent, NAGERCOIL.
