Mr.Stephen Chelladurai is the youngest son of late Mr.T.G.Mani and Mrs.Mercy Mani.  His mother Susan Mercy was the second daughter of Mrs.Laura Pooranam Daniel the grand daughter of Rev.J.Joshua, the second Pastor of NAGERCOIL Home Church.

Mr.Mani was a brave man and his wife was a God fearing, honest and good natured woman.  The family went through difficult times.  People all around looked down on Mr.Chelladurai as he did not have much education.  He led a humble and modest life.  He got married to Marthal on 31st December, 1962.

With the help of Pastor Sundaram he got a job as a helper in the Benedict Girl’s Higher Secondary School, Chennai.  Pastor Sundaram mended his spiritual life after which he led a religious life and started to spread the Gospel and preach.  He distributed tracts in hospitals.  Also he used to distribute sweets to children.  Due to this he is known as “Palli Muttai Thatha”.

He is running a small sweet stall in Shenoy Nagar, Chennai, where he is spending his retired life with his wife.

Mr.& Mrs.Chelladurai have three children.  The eldest son Joshua Gnanamoni married Dancy Rani and they have a daughter called Mercy Jeeva Jothy.  The second son Caleb Gnanamony married Rubavathy Princela and they have a son named Stephen Chelladurai.  The youngest is a daughter, Joy Mary, who got married to P.Peter on 28-05-1999.  All the children are living in Chennai with their families.  He is very proud of his children and grand children who are all bound by love.  He describes his family as a small paradise.  Once neglected, but he found a new purpose in life, which is, leading others in Lord’s way.
