            Victor Nayagam is the eldest son of Mr.D.J.Perinba Nayagam and Mrs.Mary Judith Nayagam.  Mary Judith was the grand daughter of Mr.J.Joseph the eldest son of Rev.J.Joshua.  He was born on 8th March 1940, in Ceylon and had his education there.  After completing his education he served in the clerical cadre in the Plantations.  The entire family returned to India in 1961, except his mother who expired on 17th November, 1953.  He worked for about eight years in the CSI Diocesan Office as Personal Assistant to the Bishop and as Head Clerk in the Women’s Christian College, NAGERCOIL.

 

He married Caroline Thanga Latha daughter of Mr.& Mrs.S.Chellappan of Paruthivilai near Mondaikadu on 28th May, 1973 at the Kariavilai Church.  Mrs.Latha Nayagam after completing her education, joined the Tamil Nadu Public Service in the Employment Office.  She voluntarily retired from service in November,1994.

 

Mr.Victor Nayagam proceeded to Saudi Arabia in October1978, where he served for ten years and returned to India in October 1989.  He again joined the Diocesan service as Office Manager of the Diocesan Missionary Prayer Band and then as the Personal Assistant to the Bishop.  He is also the Treasurer of the Rev.J.Joshua Family Association since its inception in 1993.

 

            They have a son and a daughter.  Harry Nihal, their son, completed his B.D.S.Degree and is serving as Dental Surgeon in the Neyyoor Hospital under the Kanyakumari Medical Mission since March 1998.  Their daughter, Farina Nalini, is doing her B.Sc.II year in the Women’s Christian College, NAGERCOIL.  

 

            The entire family is very religious and never miss Sunday Church Services.  Everyday morning and evening, family prayers and singing are a regular event in their house.  They also attend religious and prayer meetings held in other places.  Mr.Nayagam gives messages at Churches, other religious and prayer meetings and conducts fasting and all night prayer meetings.  Latha Nayagam too gives messages in Churches and prayer meetings.  She is an active Sunday School Teacher and together with her daughter Farina Nalini, she does evangelistic work among the non-Christians.
