Pravin is the elder of the two sons of Mr.J.Paul Azariah and Mrs.Ida Azariah a great grand daughter of Rev.J.Joshua.  He was born on 17th March, 1962, at Neyyoor.  He studied at the Ida Scudder High School, Vellore, and then joined the Government Stanley Medical College, Chennai, and took his M.B.B.S. Degree.  He also took a Diploma in Dermatology from the Christian Medical College, Vellore and a Post Graduate Degree in Dermatology (M.D) from the Madras Medical College, Chennai.  He joined the Tamil Nadu Government Medical Service and is working as a Senior Civil surgeon now.  Presently he is working at the Government Head Quarters Hospital, NAGERCOIL.  He is also a Consultant at Dr.Jeyasekharan Hospital  and Jayahar Hospital, in NAGERCOIL.   He married Shahila Kumari third child of Mr.P.Dharmaraj, ex Municipal Chairman , NAGERCOIL Municipality, and a leading lawyer.  She was born on 8th February, 1968, at NAGERCOIL.  After her school studies she joined the Women’s Christian College, NAGERCOIL and took her B.A.Degree in English Literature.  She also holds the L.L.B. Degree from the Bangalore Law University.  Presently she is a practising lawyer at the NAGERCOIL District Court.  She is also an active member in various Women’s Organisations.   Dr.Pravin has held various positions such as; Vice President of Tamil Nadu Government Doctor’s Association, Secretary cum Treasurer, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka States of Indian Association of Dermatologists, Venerologists and Leprologists, Organising Secretary of the Clinical Society for Government Doctor’s .  He has also presented three clinical papers at the National Conference and five papers at the Regional Conference.   Pravins have two sons, the elder named Avinash was born on 25th October, 1993, and is studying in the II Standard.  The younger son is called Abilash who was born on 1st October, 1999.   They are living in their own house at Henry Road, NAGERCOIL.
