Mr.J.Paul
Azariah is the son of Mr.F.Johnson David who was an active member and
Deacon for many years of the Santhayadi Church, and Mrs.Annammal Johnson. He did his university education at
NAGERCOIL, Madurai, and Madras, acquiring the M.Sc. B.T. and M.Phil.
Degrees. He joined
Voorhees College, Vellore, as Professor of Zoology and retired as Vice
Principal after serving as a
faculty for one year at the American College, Madurai.
Mr.Azariah
married Ida Salome daughter
of Dr.G.M.Samuel and Mrs.Annammal Samuel who was the grand daughter of
Rev.J.Joshua. She is an old
student of the Women’s Christian College, Madras and St.Christophers Training College, Madras. For a short period she worked as B.T.Assistant
and Headmistress at Government Girls High Schools in
Kerala.
Mr.Azariah took active part in the Pastorate Committee and Diocesan Council and Evangelistic Committee as
Coordinator at the St.John’s Church Vellore and served in the outreach
areas for eight years. Like
her husband Mrs.Ida Azariah was also involved in the St.John’s Church
activities serving in the Pastorate Committee, Women’s Fellowship,
Evangelistic Committee and Diocesan Council. She was in charge of St.John’s
Church project for children run by the Women’s Fellowship in the most
backward area of the town at the Hope Nursery
School,
Kaspa , for twelve years. In
appreciation of her service to the poor she was invited by the Reformed
Church Lancaster U.K.in 1997.
They have two sons Pravin and Pradish. Pravin completed his M.B.B.S. and
M.D. Degrees and is now a senior Assistant Surgeon and Dermatologist at
the Government Head Quarters Hospital, NAGERCOIL.
He is married and his wife Shakila is a practicing Lawyer at
NAGERCOIL. Pradish is an MCA
graduate and is working as Applications Engineer at Ostfold Software Co.,
Bangalore.
Mr.J.P.Azariah and Mrs.Ida Azariah are now living in their own
house at Henry Road, NAGERCOIL.
