Arul Gnanasekar is the youngest son of Dr.G.Selwin and Mrs.Stella Selwin a great  grand daughter of Rev.J.Joshua, the second Pastor of the NAGERCOIL Home Church.   He did his schooling from N.V.K.S. School, Attoor and Carmel Higher Secondary School, NAGERCOIL.  He took his B.Sc. Degree from Mar Ivanious College, Trivandrum, and Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Science from N.I.I.T.Madras.  He worked as a senior faculty member in N.I.I.T. Trivandrum.  He left the job and joined the Syntel Bombay.  Now he is working as Software Engineer, Syntel in the United States.  He got the best faculty award when he was working in Trivandrum.

He married Eliz Darling Sheeba daughter of Mr.Victor Samraj, retired Co-opeative Sub Registrar, NAGERCOIL, and Mrs.Josephine Samraj, retired Teacher C.S.I. Home Church School, NAGERCOIL.  Sheeba did her schooling from Duthie Girl’s Higher Secondary School, NAGERCOIL.  Then she joined the Women’s Christian College, NAGERCOIL, and took her B.A. Degree in English Literature .  She also holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Library Science which she took from Madras Christian College, Tambaram, Madras.  She served as a Teacher in the C.S.I. Matriculation School, NAGERCOIL for a brief period before her marriage.

They have two daughters.  The elder is Susanna Iswarya who is two years old and the younger is Maria Archana born on 29th September, 1999.

The family is settled in the United States of America.
