Stella
Retnavathy is the youngest daughter of Dr.G.M.Samuel and Mrs.Annammal
Samuel a grand daughter of Rev.J.Joshua, second Pastor of NAGERCOIL Home
Church. She did her schooling
in the Duthie Girl’s High School, NAGERCOIL, and continued it in
theS.L.B.Government High
School, NAGERCOIL.
She took her B.A.Degree in Zoology from the Women’s
Christian College, Madras, and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Social Science
from the Stella Maris College, Madras.
On
completing her studies she was appointed as a Teacher in the L.M.S.Girl’s
School at Neyyoor, and served there for one year.
She got married to Dr.G.Selwin son of Mr.A.Gunamony retired Income
Tax Commissioner, Trivandrum and Mrs.Daisy Gunamony. He started his schooling at the
C.S.I Home Church School, NAGERCOIL, and continued it at the St.Joseph’s
High School, Trivandrum. Then
he joined the Madras Christian College, Tambaram, Madras, and took his B.Sc. Degree. He took his M.B.B.S.Degree from
Manipal, Karnataka.
After completing his studies he joined the Kerala Government
Service and worked there for a few years. However he left the job and
started his own private practice in Bodinayakanur near Madurai.
They have three children.
The eldest is a daughter named Shanthini who got married to Dr.Basanth
Nelson. The other two
children are boys called Samuel Gunasekhar and Arul Gnanasekhar. Both are married and all the
children are well settled in life.
Dr.G.Selwin and Mrs.Stella Selvin are now living in their own house
in Trivandrum.
