N.D.Jeyasekharan was born on 15th March,1925, to Dr.J.N.Daniel and Mrs.Annielet Thayammal Daniel as their fifth child.  His father Dr.J.N.Daniel belongs to Agasteeswaram and his mother Mrs.Annielet Thayammal was the daughter of Rev.J.N.Ambrose who was a popular and very efficient chief Pastor of the NAGERCOIL Home Church.  He had his schooling in the Mission Schools at NAGERCOIL.

While still at school as a young boy of twelve he lost his father.  After completing his Intermediate from the Scott Christian College, NAGERCOIL, he joined the University College at Trivandrum and graduated in Zoology.  Then he took up appointment as a Demonstrator in Zoology for one year in the American College, Madurai.  He left this job and joined the M.B.B.S. course in the Madras Medical College and took his Degree.

After acquiring the M.B.B.S.Degree he started his professional career at Catherine Booth Hospital, NAGERCOIL, under the famous Dr.Noble.  In 1955 he left CBH, as he was offered a CSI Mission Scholarship for U.K.  Within a very short time he completed his F.R.C.S (Edinburgh) and returned to India in 1958.  On return he joined the Mission Hospital, Neyyoor.  There he worked hard and earned a good name for the hospital and for himself.  It was in his tenure that the 125th Anniversary of the Neyyoor Mission Hospital was celebrated.   Due to personal reasons he left the Medical Mission Neyyoor in 1965 and moved to NAGERCOIL where he started his own practice.  During 1968 he opened the Jeyasekharan Hospital and Nursing Home  on the K.P.Road, NAGERCOIL.  With only sheer hard work and the confidence of the patients in the treatment obtained there the hospital has grown to the present status.  He was the correspondent of the CSI Matriculation School, NAGERCOIL for more than ten years.  During this period the school became a Higher Secondary School.

Jeyasekharan married Manohara Rani daughter of Dr.G.M.Samuel and Mrs.Annammal Samuel, the grand daughter of Rev.J.Joshua.  Rani had her schooling at the Government Schools in Attingal.  After completing her intermediate in Scott Christian College, NAGERCOIL, she joined the University College, Trivandrum and got her B.Sc., Degree in 1948 and the M.Sc., Degree in 1951.  After graduation she joined the Women’s Christian College, Madras as a Lecturer in Zoology and served for one year.  Then she joined  the Scott Christian College, NAGERCOIL, as Lecturer  and worked for one year.  She was the Superintendent of Embroidery Industry Neyyoor for one year and as Superintendent of LMS Orphanage for four years.  Since 1965 she is one of the Administrators and Director of Jeyasekharan Hospital and Nursing Home.

They have three sons and two daughters, all are married and well settled in life.
