Gnanalette Phloxy was the eldest daughter of Mr.A.D.Edwards and
Mrs.Jane Edwards who was the grand daughter of Rev.J.Joshua. She had her education at
Marthandam and qualified as a Trained Teacher from the Mulagumoodu
Convent School.
She
got married to Mr.A.Oliver Vincent son of Mr.& Mrs.Arumainayagam of
NAGERCOIL. Mr.Vincent started
his career in the Tea Estates of Ceylon. Working there for a brief period
he returned to India and joined the A.V.Thomas
Co., at Punalur and served in that Company till
retirement.
Mrs.Phloxy Vincent took up teaching assignment at a school at
Punalur, Kerala, and retired as the Head Mistress of that school.
After retirement they settled in their own house at NAGERCOIL and
got fully involved in the Church Activities. Mr.Vincent joined the NAGERCOIL
Home Church Office as the Manager and served there for a few years. They never missed Sunday Services
and attended other meetings in the Home Church, NAGERCOIL
regularly.
Mr.Vincent passed away after a brief illness on 5th June, 1989 and
was interred at the Home Church Cemetery, NAGERCOIL. Mrs.Phloxy Vincent died at the age
of 72 years on 1st May, 1999, and was laid to rest near her husband’s
grave at the Home Church Cemetery.
