Eldest Daughter of LEWIS the Youngest Son of REV.J.JOSHUA

Joshua       Lewis      Rachel Pooranam           51 Rachel Pooranam 511 Ruby Sylvia     512 Eileen Charlotte Angela     513 Mercy Edna     514 Robin Eric Joslin	Mr.P.N.Malachi was the son of Mr.P.Nyanakan who was a deacon in the NAGERCOIL Home Church from 1885 to 1910, and Mrs. Selinal Nyanakan.  He had his early education in NAGERCOIL and after his graduation (B.A.) he joined the Burma Railways.  By his sincere and hard work he gradually rose to the position of Superintendent of Burma Railways and in that position continued till his retirement.                 He was a very humorous gentleman, always well dressed and was popularly known as ‘Kambi Meesai’.               He married Rachel Pooranam the eldest daughter of Mr.J.Lewis the son of Rev.J.Joshua, second Pastor of NAGERCOIL Home Church, and Mrs.Maisie Lewis on 11th June,1919.  They had three daughters - Ruby, Eileen and Mercy - and one son Robin.  None of their children is alive with us now.               After retirement the family settled down in NAGERCOIL in their own house “Redmont” at the Water Tank Road.  He died after a brief illness on 18-11-1943.  Mrs.Pooranam Malachi lived up to the age of 77 years.  She had the privilege of seeing her great grand children.  She died on 9-11-1977.
