Wilfred Lewis is the eldest son and third child of Mr.L.J.Chelliah and Mrs. Jessie Chelliah. He is one of the many great grand sons of Rev.J.Joshua.  He started his schooling in theScott Christian High School, NAGERCOIL, in 1942 when the family returned to India from Burma due to the Second World War, and after his graduation from the American College, Madurai, he joined the Accountant General’s office as an auditor. On passing the Departmental Accounts Examination he was promoted as a Section Officer, and retired from service in 1976.

He married Leelavathy the second daughter of Mr.& Mrs.I.V.Chellam of Moolachi, in June 1961.  She studied at the Duthie Girl’s High School, NAGERCOIL and then took a Trained Teacher’s Certificate from the Govt. Teacher’s Training School, NAGERCOIL. They have three daughters Nisha, Jessie Chitra and Pearline Ella.

Nisha is employed in the State Bank of India and is married to Charles Suresh David who is an Assistant Professor  in  Madras Christian College, Tambaram.  Chitra is an Assistant Manager in the Lucas-TVS and is married to Prakash Kumar, a Mechanical Engineer  working as Deputy Manager with a reputed Wind Mill Company.  Pearline is working in a Matriculation School at NAGERCOIL and her husband Arul Selvan is the Head of the Department  of Computer Science in the Nesamony Memorial  Christian College, Marthandam.

After retirement from the Accountant General’s Office, Mr.Wilfred Lewis and Mrs.Leelavathy Wilfred went to Nigeria and served in the Benue State Educational Service for eight years.

On return from abroad they settled in Ananthan Nagar near NAGERCOIL to a quiet  and peaceful retired life.  He kept his retired life busy by collecting details of his family  - descendants of Rev.J.Joshua - in which he was very much interested and compiled the book “Rev.J.Joshua a family Chronicle”, after spending seven years on this project.  The book was published on 29th December,1992 with the monetary help from many members of the Rev.Joshua  family.  He is now the General Secretary of the the Rev. J.Joshua Family Association formed in February, 1993.
