Joshua Dennison popularly known as ‘Denny’ was born to Dr.S.Yesudian of Agastheeswaram and Mrs.Gnanai Yesudian, grand daughter of Rev.J.Joshua, as their second son in the year 1913.  Handsome, jovial, full of life and fun, Denny kept his company in roars of laughter.  He was a good sportsman and the Travancore State Champion in Volley ball in his youth.  He passed his intermediate examination fromScott Christian College, NAGERCOIL and did his B.A. in Madras Christian College.  Here he endeared himself to his fellow students and the staff by his friendly nature and sportsmanship.

He started his career in Textile Commissioner’s Office in Bombay as junior officer and was promoted as the Superintendent.  He was in the Secrophone section because of the trust they had on him.  Then he joined the Ministry of Commerce in New Delhi and started working as the controller of Imports and Exports and was posted in Madras, Pondicherry, Rajkot, New Delhi and Hyderabad.  He got promotion as Deputy Chief Controller of Imports and Exports.  He won the trust and favour of Ministers and Senior officials as a very honest and efficient officer and was kept in great acclaim by everyone.  He helped so many people to get good jobs.

He married his second cousin Wilsy in the year 1938.  It was a marriage of choice and very happy one.  Wilsy was the eldest daughter of Marshal A.Nesamony of revered memory and Mrs.Caroline Nesamony.  She inherited her parents pleasant looks and their tender and generous heart.  She was a good friend to many wherever she lived with her husband.  Her love for her family and friends was amazing.  She was an artist.  Immaculately clean and tidy.  She was a big giver.  Though her health had been frail she ignored it and was cheerful always.  Denny and Wilsy welcomed the rich and the poor with open arms.  Their house was open to anyone at any time.  People enjoyed their generosity and hospitality wherever they lived.  After retirement they settled down in NAGERCOIL.

They had two lovely children Premkumar and Premila.  Premkumar married Nirmala daughter of Mr.Inbaraj and Mercy.  He was working for Birlas at New Delhi and then was the Resident Executive for many companies.  Because of health hazards he left Delhi and settled down in NAGERCOIL where he started his own business.  He passed away in April 1994.  Nirmala qualified herself as a Clinical Lab.Technician from C.M.C.Vellore and is having her own Clinical Lab. at NAGERCOIL.  Dennison’s second child Premila is married to Dr.Vijayasenan Ebenezer who is a leading Psychiatrist at Wellington, New Zealand.  He is the son of Mr.Ebenezer and Dr.Helen Ebenezer from Madras.  Premila is also working in New Zealand.
