My father Mr.Y.Cecil Wilson is the fourth child born to Dr.S.Yesudian and Mrs.Gnanai Yesudian a grand daughter of Rev.J.Joshua the second Pastor of NAGERCOIL Home Church.  His father died at a young age which was a big shock to the family, and they had to encounter many hardships in life.  My grandmother a woman of faith and determination shouldered the family responsibility and saw to it that each of her sons became a graduate.

Father had his school education in Scott Christian High School, NAGERCOIL.  He did his Inter Arts in Scott Christian College and graduated from the Maharaja’s College in Trivandrum.  As a young lad he played foot ball.  He was a member of the Church Choir where he sang bass.  He went to Bombay after his graduation and joined the Central Government Service in the Income Tax Department   in  the year 1943.  He retired from  service as an officer in 1976.  He  was  respected by  all  for  his  punctuality,  sincerity    and    diligence  in   work. He earned  the goodwill of both his subordinates and higher officials in office.

Their home in Bombay was an abode for many a person from NAGERCOIL, who visited the city.  Their hospitality made the guests feel at home.  Many Tamil families lived scattered in the city and a need to have a Tamil Worship was felt by a few people.  My father was also one amongst a group of people, who got permission from the Pastor of the Marathi Church in Parel to have Tamil Worship on Sundays.  Thus the Tamil Methodist Church in Parel was born.  After retirement he joined the Performance Enterprises, my cousin’s pharmaceutical wholesale shop.  This job has kept him occupied and healthy.  Even today at this age he makes it a point to go to office in time dressed up in his usual spic and span manner.  Cricket fascinates him at this age and he is glued to the TV set whenever there is a cricket match and follows the game ball by ball.  Gardening and reading are his hobbies and one can see him watering the plants early in the morning.

I am  their only son now  in pharmaceutical business.  I  married Sornalatha,   daughter of Mr. Azariah Manuel of NAGERCOIL.  My wife has an aptitude for flower arrangement and it is her favourite hobby.   We have a son Rajeev an engineering student and a daughter Ranjana now in Std. IX.  Rajeev loves sports and music, while Ranjana enjoys dancing and music.
